What makes a forum successful?

Post by Pikachu3828 »

This is a rather open ended question as I am curious as to what everyone considers a successful forum to be/have? Is it lots of members? Is it a small but function group of members? Does the amount of posts count? Or does it rely on the quality of the posts rather than the quantity etc? Please provide reasons to back up your views.

One final question also, in regards to your views on successful forums, is this forum successful?

Please do not PM me about bugs on the Adoption Agency. Instead, make a topic in the bugs forum.

I think that having fun is the most important thing. I now spend most of my time on the Roleplaying Forums, and all my other stuff is just hanging around and collecting dustballs.

Its having a bunch of members that arent just mambers but ones that get on and are interested in the site. Then they caan tell their friends about it and it'll grow. Its the quantity and quality of the posts. A good post and a place with a lot of posts reguarly would also be a great hangout area. It a place with topic that are interesting or give the public a reason to both read them and answer them. And i really like tghis site and plenty ppl at school know that i get on it..... in fact i've onbe person wat the website was, had me email them the website so they could get on ^^.......I'd say this is a success!

To me, what makes a forum successful are fair and just moderators (check) and interesting topics (check). A wide range of topics covered is also good, too, so the forum does not get boring (check).

Hmm...I think you have everything covered...XD
