Digimon - Digidestined once, now Digidoomed?
I was browsing around the web earlier on looking for a Pokédex when I suddenly remembered Digimon and started browsing for a Digidex. It was a similar concept to Pokémon and released around the same time, but was not as successful.
Then I began searching for Digimon fan sites. To my surprise there weren't many and the ones that looked like they'd been pretty "big" had all closed down and were saying farewell. Not that I am or ever was a fan of Digimon, but it made me sad. I crave for those early days of Pokémon and Digimon battling it out while they were at the pinnacle of their fame. There hasn't been a kids craze anywhere near the size of it since.
Digimon is near forgotten now, Bandai (the company who made it) doesn't even mention Digimon on it's frontpage, you have to dig deeper to find it. I'm worried though. While Digimon was not as popular as Pokémon, it was similar and did build an adiquate fanbase which seems to have disbanded now. Do you think this will ever happen to Pokémon too?

They discontinued it after Yellow Calabero (sp?) in the U.S And Smeargle, Pokémon isnt a craze. Its more than that. They still show "I love Lucy" even though she died. And friends has been on for ten years... but ended... And how long has Mario Shined? Still now he does!!!Pikachu90000 wrote:Well that is a big "?" cause I don't know

Ahhhhh... the days of Sora, Tai, and Joe. Those were the days. It saddens me too for Digimon to fade.
I think the Digimon "craze" ended when Fox moved it off their Saturday Morning Programming with Power Rangers and Medabots. The 4th Season, in my opinion, was a dismal one. I miss the days of Digidestined, not little kids turning into the Digimon.
There is one site left though but it's an encyclopedia of the card game: Megchan's Digimon Encyclopedia. I used to use that site to get Digimon for my Fan Fictions.
Yes, it does feel like a long time ago when I was watching the Digimon Series Season One. Why can't we have shows like that anymore.
