Any one here read the manga? If so, do you like it; who’s your favorite character, what do you like most about the series, what got you reading it, and have you read all 12 volumes yet? The manga series is already complete in both the Japan and U.S.A. Oh, there’s an anime too, and they’re going to be dubbing it soon. It’s been fully released in Japan already. I’m happy, mainly because I want to see what they did with the second opening for the show. (In it they say the “F word†repeatedly, so that will be interesting to see what they do, if the put it on Toonami or something of the sorts.) Though it really isn’t much of a kid’s manga or anyone who can’t handle the concept of death, I mean there’s some one dieing at least once in every chapter (Well what do you expect form something called “Death Note)…Or religious nuts…
And now I’ll answer my questions from earlier:
Who’s your favorite character: Matsuda
What do you like most about the series: Death Note’s pretty different form the usual anime as it doesn’t follow the usual anime stereo-types; it doesn’t take place for a single point of view, and though it dose follow one person from most of the time, who you might call the main character, Raito/Light Yagami, he’s really a psychopathic killer that thinks he’s doing the right thing, not only that but he thinks of him self as a god. Now tell me that’s the normal main character you see in most anime. Also it doesn’t have the normal bad-good guy (like Sasuke from Naruto) bushonen that a majority of anime has. The most interesting character, that most people like, isn’t at all “normalâ€. The other reason I like Death Note is that it really makes think not only about what will happen next and was that a good move on so-and-so, but people’s values as well.
What got you reading it: Well it really was a matter of luck for me, you see I just happened to buy the Shonen Jump that the first chapter was in, and I thought “hey this seem pretty good.†About a month or so later, a friend of mine asked me if I read it (I didn’t know it was out yet) and told me I should. I’ll admit that at first I was hesitant about it, I didn’t think it could go any farther, but I finely bought the volume and well the rest should be obvious.
have you read all 12 volumes yet: Yes.
Oh and another thing, my current avatar comes from Death Note.
