What was your first anime?

What was your first introduction to anime? I'm sure many of us, myself included, was first introduced to anime through PokÃ©mon. Anybody any different or are we all pretty much the same?

At the time when it first came out it was a pretty low budget anime so it probably wasn't the best first impression that could have been made.

My history with Anime is long... longer than i realised myself when i started to find out exactly what cartoon shows came from japan.

I thought my first introduction into Manga/Anime was the Japanese Animated films shown on a Sci-Fi channel over here, back when i was around 14-15. The first movie i saw was Appleseed (the old one, not the recent remake... although i have seen that and think it's awesome)

But while i thought that was my introduction to anime, it wasnt. When i was a lot younger (9-10, maybe) one of the popular cartoons on TV was The Samurai Pizza Cats... it was a comedic adventure cartoon following the lives of 3 super hero cats who worked in a pizza place until the evil big cheese made an yet another atempt to try and take the thrown to rule the land, so they slapped on robotic armour, fired out of a big gun and saved the day... they also broke the 4th wall far too often, but this just made it even funnier... to this day i still remember the opening theme song, and hum it to myself every so often

While i also vaguly remember Speed Racer on when i was REALLY young (like, before i even started school), i still class the Samurai Pizza Cats as my first true Anime Experiance

The earliest Anime i can can remember was a version of Hans Cristen Anderson's Little mermaid which was made in the 1970s - managed to find the cassette in a charity shop some few weeks... heh, how old childhood memories return.

I have watched other animes before pokemon was realeased, it's remebering the titles of the anime other then the mermaid and before pokemon...

I'd guess i'll rememebr them soon-ish after a while....

The first anime that I ever watched was either Sailor Moon or Pokemon but the first anime that I watched that I knew was anime when I started watching it was DBZ.

I guess my first was Sailor Moon, when I was three, I still remember the them song by heart. Of coarse now I find it compleatly sappy, but I'll still alway love it, some what.

Mine was pokemon since I was born when pokemon first came out in the U.S. so I got hooked on pokemon right away.

Mine was actually that Yu-gi-oh thing. I watched a couple episodes when I was 5 years old and then I got bored. But it was my first.

Sailor Moon. When I was little, my sister was about 11-13 and she was obssessed with the show, so I watched it with her sometimes. I didn't really understand it though.
