Robert made a point similar to this in IRC the other day to which I said the same thing: ideas are not finite. If there are ~650 odd Pokémon then that still mimics only a tiny, tiny fraction of the known flora and fauna that exists in real life.Rovay wrote:Well, there are only so much shapes, animals, plants etc. that you can base Pokemon on, before you run out of resonable concept and ideas. And most of them were already used in previous generations.

Re: New starters
Well, you're right in this matter, but why do I get the feeling that the principle behind some NewGen Pokemon is "unleash all your artistic imagination and make sure is goes way over-the-top, it doesn't matter if they will look weird, just do it!"...Pikachu3828 wrote:Robert made a point similar to this in IRC the other day to which I said the same thing: ideas are not finite. I agree with you on them probaly being fake look at the rest of the ledgit pics they have then look at the evolutions, their not drawn on the same type of matireal, and the style looks a little different.WhoKnows_WhoCares wrote:the ones you were talking about are probably fake, serebii still cant get confirmation that they are legit

Sorry to disapoint you, but Coro Coro magazine just revealed that first starter evolutions are, in fact, legit. And that means that their second evolutions are (probably) legit too.pokefan200 wrote: I agree with you on them probaly being fake look at the rest of the ledgit pics they have then look at the evolutions, their not drawn on the same type of matireal, and the style looks a little different.

Re: New starters
This is the first time since pokemon came out that I prefer the second stage over the third stage. Also I have to say that the 3rd and 4th generation second stage starters were lame and am happy that they made some that look good.

Re: New starters
art wise, they did look suspicious - but yeah, new corocoro at least confims that the first evo's of the starters are real. Chances are that the second evo is real too...Rovay wrote:Sorry to disapoint you, but Coro Coro magazine just revealed that first starter evolutions are, in fact, legit. However, this makes me VERY disapointed in the starters. Both the Grass and the Water are pure types (acording to the info, they're secondary evolutions are pure types too) - no problem with that, but the fire starter becomes Fire/Fighting... AGAIN
Monferno and Infernape were bad enough when it turned out they were just like Combusken and Blaziken from Ruby/Sapphire... but to once again become Fire/Fighting? that's a little redundent isnt it?

Re: New starters
Maybe it's a new starter style to have fighting as a second type? Or maybe it's connected with the supposed four new legendaries that also have fighting as a second type? Guess we'll never know for sure...Shiny Star wrote:Pig = Fighting?

We've had Blaziken and Infernape as fire/fighting starters...
I'm getting the water starter. I always do. ^_^

To Burning Sumo-Wrestling Pigs. Because apparently Burning Karate Monkeys and Burning Kung Fu Chickens were just not good enough...MollyDJmaster wrote:Same here. But I have to admit, it does look a bit like a Sumo-Wrestling pig... WHAT IS THE WORLD COMING TO?
