Also, is it just me or does the Golden User seem to be favouring the newer players. Most have been ones to join this year... I mean i know that there's nearly 100 choices to pick from at the moment, but why cant it show some love to some of us long time players

I think I have FINALLY gotten what I need to do for "Feed Your Head" It hit me like a bullet train and seems so obvious now. I just need things to line up so I can do it.

I've also noticed the Golden User has yet to be any of the 'regular's'. Almost every single one so far has been someone I've never heard of or seen before. Not really complaining because there ARE a lot of choices but a few of the 'newbies' have already gotten it several times already. If I remember right someone's gotten it three times now, I forgot who but it wasn't anyone who's been here very long. *crossing fingers in hopes of getting Golden User someday* I'd even be happy if it was anyone I knew, Goggy, Powerchu, even you WK_WC. I just want some love for the people I know are on all day every day and have been for a very long time. Love all the new users but love for the long terms would be lovely.

You boys aren't the only ones. I know there's a lot to choose from...but when it goes off a weekly list, changes daily, and someone who only joined that day gets picked, or someone who's only been around a week or two gets it three times, it kinda sucks. It's great that the newer people get some help evolving their pokemon and all that, I have no problems with new players. New players are good, and love to new players are good, but still...some of us regulars and 'older' players are looking for a little love here! I'd love to get golden user, I'd love to see you two or Powerchu or Goggy or even Overlord get it. It just kind of is a bummer I guess...at the moment I almost feel like it'll be impossible for us regulars to get it, even though I know it's completely possible, it just doesn't feel like it.

You have a lot of knowledge of this site and it's wonderful to pass it onto new people. I've never played any of the Pokemon games, it's not my sort of thing, I prefer FPS

(I honestly couldn't remember since quite a lot goes on during your first few days here so thank-you for telling me XD Thats why I posted as soon as I got the Berry Scanner so I would remember)

Since us admins actually get to look at the AA activity list for the last 7 days at anyone time, I get to see all the choices the golden user could be. The newer members are drowning us older ones out a bit. Did you know that the last couple of days, the amount of people on in the past week was at 99? Whats more interesting is that more than half of those didn't start playing until this year.

That said, somepeople have been playing longer than you think. I'll get exact stats up later when I get back from work for any that's interested

*rasies hand* I'm very interested, curse my curious nature. I'm a bit more curious to know where all these new users are coming from though. I'm wondering if someone got the word out somehow or what. Personally I'm loving all the new faces but the regulars do seem to be drowning in the flood. Oh well, makes things more interesting I say. I love all of you but it was getting a little boring seeing the same names pretty much everywhere. I'll have to get used to my random moment of, "Who's that?" though.

Although I'm aware nobody seriously thinks there's a bias towards newer users (I hope) when picking the Golden User each day, I'm sure a few of you will be happy to hear I have been formulating some ideas for the next update which will reward users who consecutively visit the AA at least once a day for x days. It's still in rough planning stages (and so this particular idea may not even happen) but don't worry, I do plan to reward loyalty !

Most of the new users I recognise from Yarolds click exchange and Virtuadopt. One person has requested permission for this game to be approved on Yarolds (I think I saw the first one at the begining of January) and then the other members like me have seen clicked the link and came to have a look then joined. Now now we put our pokemon links up from here so people see more and more of this site. I'm guessing more will trickle over here as more people play it and start to put their pokes in their sig block on other sites.

Virtuadopt has 30,000 registered users but only 5,000 active at a guess. Yarolds has around 5,000 members, but I guess only about 2000 are actually active and Yarolds deletes inactive accounts, Virtuadopt does not.

yeah, I've noticed quite a few of the people in the newbies forum has said they've been finding this place via Yarolds... We dont care as long as we're getting lots of new and active members.


OK - somebody wanted stats on the Golden Users, well this may suprise you.

As of 1st Feb 2012:

There have been 23 users made the Golden User
No User has yet to be the Golden User more than 3 times
5 Users have managed to be the Golden User twice

7 of the Golden Users have been playing the AA for more than a Year
2 of the Golden Users have been playing for more than 6 months (but less than a year)
Only 9 of the Golden Users started playing in 2012
2 of the golden Useres signed up in December 2011 (if you thought this may still be 'new)
Only one of the Winners started playing in the last 7 days

Just a point on that last one, I cant track accuratly what days people won, So at the moment, most of the Winners have been here over a week, even if they managed to win the GU within a couple of days of winning.

Still, this proves that there isnt a Bias against the older users, but it does seem to favour them slightly more (for the moment)

Uhm, I just accidentally gave my special Pichu to the guy at the Train Station (I clicked the wrong one as it used to show up to the left, but this time, it showed to the right and I didn't notice it until it was too late). I didn't want to post it in the bugs section as this is my own mistake, not a bug (though I had hoped the guy wouldn't accept it), but does anyone happen to know if there's a way to get it back? I was very happy to have one and I could kick myself for not paying enough attention while clicking. ;_;

I was thinking it might be nice to have some leader boards on show somewhere on this site, get a bit of friendly competition going. Some people might be top for something they never even thought of like breeding or trades or fishing or highest ranch, or something really silly so it might be a lot of fun.

we used to have a hall of fame for things like that. When 2.0 launched last august, only a couple of those subjects migrated to the front page's Records section, and it only every shows the number 1 instead of the top ten like the hall of fame used to do
