When mining in the Archaeology Society my one mine per hour there is also counted in faraway cave, not sure if it's supposed to be like that. But my main problem is the golden kit upgrade. The stones I mine to meet the requirements don't count unless they're still in my bag, so the ones I've used aren't counting towards the total I need

i've noticed that as well, but i think that's the point - i think you're suppose to spend the stones to buy the kit... or at least thats how i'm reading it.

as for the mining bit, again, i think that's intentional as well - i had thought you mined at the same place, but upon looking at the code, they are two different places...

i am worried the bug that originally affected faraway cave mining (meaning that only the default option is the egg that gets mined) is affecting the archeology section to - that only has to mean something to pikachu3828 by the way, so dont worry if nobody else knows what i mean. i cant confirm due to not getting eggs too often and having the same kind of bad luck on faraway cave...

if you're talking about always getting the same pokemon from the mined eggs I meant to bring that up to but forgot to in the first post. I've mined about ten eggs and they were all the same pokemon.

well unless your constantly getting misdreavus from faraway cave - its bad luck... i know because i myself keep getting paras (although i did find a vulpix today) - i know that's working...

that said, if you're getting nothing but misdreavus from the archeology socioty - then that IS a problem, one which i've identified but not sure i can fix myself due to unformiliarity with php.

no I'm just getting tons of paras from faraway cave, but I did get some other things from it before. ALL I get from the site is misdreavus though...haven't gotten anything else at all

paras is bad luck, but as far as i can tell, that's working...

other site is most likely bugged, i think i know why, i think i could fix it, but i am hesitant to... as this isnt my code and i'm not familiar with php as pikachu3828 is.

well with winter break being only a month away and not many people having access to that area yet it could wait until he's able to work on things himself again. it's not a major issue right now just a small dissapointment for some ^^' so long as it gets fixed eventually it's all good

I've had a look through the code and there's no bug, you've just been extremely unlucky so far There is only a small selection of Pokémon available with a small chance of mining for them so the chances of you getting the same Pokémon again and again are quite realistic.

As for the logic behind mining once an hour, the idea is that mining is physically strenuous to you so you need an hour rest after mining no matter where you go.

Not that I'm complaining, but why then can you mine with Roark AND then in faraway cave in the same hour? Does the boat refresh you or something?

Now I'll be the first to admit that I don't know php (which is the main reason I've been reading your code is to help me learn) - but I can't see where it sets which mining kit you have so that when it tries to work out which egg you get, it can select it's random number. Without that variable set, I'd guess the code would have no choice but to chose the default option.

Of course the real test on if there is a bug or if we're unlucky would be to change the default to something other than the options available (say, for example, a paras) - if we get misdreavus then, we have bad luck, if we get paras, your code IS bugged... just a thought

You are indeed correct, I was looking out for the error from the other script and missed that completely. If I can find some time before winter break I'll fix it but it might have to wait until I get back, assignments are now piling up and I managed to find a part time job so I'm kept pretty busy at the moment.

Would a copy/paste of (what i assume is ) the same function in the cave script work (amended to not include the two basic kits) and placed in the same place shouts the check for if they've mined this hour in the archaeology script? If so I could do that - if not, winter break is good too

The first one should work but for the second it'd be best to wait until I get back as that requires closing brackets to be placed in the correct place too which requires you to know specifically where they're nested.

Make sure to save a copy of the old one just in case something goes wrong

stupid iphone - the word 'shouts' should be 'above' as in, i was going to paste the code above the check for if you've mined that hour as that's where its placed in the cave's code.

anyway, c&p is done and it looks like its working. for a pure test, i changed the default egg to a paras (something you can mine at the other spot anyway) - but in PM convo with undead, he's got an egg that's not paras (or misdreavus, conicidently) so it looks like it's working

you can double check/neaten up the code in the winter, but for now, this bug is fixed (even if it doesnt affect anybody who hasnt posted in this topic yet)
