It's not registering me getting a starter

Okay, so I've had my account for awhile, but didn't get a starter because I just had my account so I'd get credit for petting my friends pokemon in case I ever decided to play.

Now, I have decided to start playing, so I go to get my starter, it goes through to the "Congratulations, so-and-so has been added to your Pokedex" ...and then redirects me back to the choosing your starter screen.

Help?

the problem is that you seem to have picked up some eggs from places before you've gone for your starter... this prevents you getting your starter properly. you seem to have gotten one of them from buena (which may be where the whole problem started) then 3 from elm.

I've deleted the pokemon and you can now get a starter straight away (please do not try to get any thing else until you have a starter) - i'll leave this topic open so that Pikachu3828 can see the locations he still needs to close off people getting eggs before they get thier starter pokemon

I thought this problem was fixed in 2.0 due to it requiring you to be logged in to view most pages and then automatically redirecting you to the starter selection page if you don't have any Pokémon. Would you mind telling me exactly what you did up to the point that the error occurred?
