Now You Catch It, Now You Don't
I have a Treecko, but according to my Pokedex, Treecko is only Seen, not Caught. At least, the sprite is faded and inanimate. I haven't gone through the whole thing and counted to be sure the numbers line up.

How did you acquire the Treecko? Did you have an entry before and it got wiped to seen or did you acquire one without it registering as caught?

I got it in a trade. I don't think I ever got a message about it being added to the Pokedex. I had seen one beforehand, and I just looked now and saw it was still only "Seen". If it was listed as Caught somewhere in the middle there, I didn't actually see it.

I bred a new Treecko and hatched it, and now it seems to be "Caught" in my Pokedex. There was no message about a new addition to the Pokedex, but the sprite is now filled in and animated.

This is strange. There hasn't been any Pokédex related bugs for a long time so I thought I'd got them all but apparently there's one still lingering out there. Unfortunately without being able to identify where the Treecko that didn't register came from there's not a lot I can do to locate the bug but I'll keep this topic open in case somebody runs into this problem again.

Re: Now You Catch It, Now You Don't
It's higly probable I accepted the trade with Morde, I got my original treecko from a trade with Lilandra so I'm not sure if it's that one I traded with him or one I bred myself.
Guess it would be impossible to work out exactly where it came from

Do other Pokémon not register as caught in the Pokédex if you receive them via trade? Or is it a problem specific to Treecko? Or (unlikely) even that specific Treecko?

Re: Now You Catch It, Now You Don't
They do normally register as caught when traded, I made sure to check when I saw someone else post about things not showing as caught.
As for when my treecko was registered as caught, when I got it from the trade or when I bred it, I honestly can't remember
Sorry, I'll try to keep an eye out. My dex appears fine for all those registered as caught (however I normally breed within the hour with them so if the trade didn't set it to caught then I guess breeding one would anyways)

Re: Now You Catch It, Now You Don't
As far as I know, this is the only Pokemon I've received in a trade that hasn't registered. I'm not actually sure now who I got it from; it may have been Sally_Ann, or it might have been AstaTheBroken...probably one of them, at least. I think it was bred specifically to trade to me, but since I didn't have it until it was traded, I can't say for sure.
Thus far, it does kinda seem to be a one-off fluke from just that one specific Treecko...weird.

This actually happened to me with a Mudkip I got from a trade a long time ago. But I trade the same Mudkip with somebody and they trade it back to me. After the trade and trade back was done with it was registered as caught. Since it fixed itself I didn't think to report it.

Re: Now You Catch It, Now You Don't
This appears to be a related issue, so I'll post here: I just clicked a Slowbro, and was told it was added to my Pokedex (first one I'd seen and all), but when I actually check, it turns out it wasn't. The Alakazam and Tentacruel from the same party added just fine, but Slowbro is MIA.

I clicked the same party and have the exact same problem here clicked eevee8 but my dex goes slowpoke - magnemite. No greyed out slowbro to be seen.
Edit: Oops, sorry posted before the boss posted that it was a known issue with Slowbro.
