I wouldn't mind having a Flygon or Charizard that could fly me to places when I needed transport.

Thinking practically, I wouldn't use them for battle in real life., but a few could fill in some niche.
They would be useful for transportation, though.
- I would use a Ralts for teleportation purposes [Abra sleeps all the time. :<]
- Perhaps a Lapras for riding on water.
- In reality, I'd probably be too scared to let a pokemon fly me places, but if I did I'd probably use a Dragonite for that.
Can't think of much else though... perhaps a Blissey to act as an emergency nurse? xP

I'd have as many cute ones as I could afford the feeding costs of.
But if it were only six:
Raichu, my first favorite.
Dragonite, cuz I've always loved him. And he can fly... but I'm afraid of heights... uh-oh. Well, he can surf, too, so he can do that for me.

Arcanine could be my car since I can't drive.
Mew! I've always loved her.
