Pokémon are animals in a way, so it would stand to reason that some of them would eat meat, which means they eat other Pokémon. Another piece of eveidence for this is the fact that in the anime they have meat on the table at times which could also be a Pokémon since they never even mention any others life-forms on the planet. So they either do or don't, we just don't know, and will never know unless we meet the creator and ask him if Pokémon eat other Pokémon.

Maybe in the pokemon world people can actually grow meat trees? o_O

*Runs off to plant hamburger*

Still, the T.V. show portrays pokemon as creatures close to the intelligence of humans. Do people only eat "dumb" pokemon? Yeah, again, I'd say the best thing to do would be to suspend logic. (Or go with the meat trees)

In either the very first or second (I forget which one) episode of the anime, a Spearow is shown eating a worm it pulled out of the ground. It's not a Pokémon but a run of the mill earthworm. It may be an anomaly but it is evidence of another life form on the planet other than Pokémon and humans.

Wow so there are atleast worm. I wonder what else they have? Well we know they eat berries, and milk isn't hard to come by.The second mystery of the Pokémon world, what do they eat if not Pokémon? The mystery can only be answered by Satoshi Tajiri the creater of Pokémon. Until we're given a dirct answer, we can assume all we want about this dark topic.

Millions and millions of humans throughout the world are vegans, and they choose to because they think it's right for them. While a vegan diet is not one of the most balanced, millions around the world are starving and they don't have a balanced meal either. I think we should be grateful that we have the choice to have a balanced diet or not have a balanced diet.

Most people in the real world don't have any problems eating lamb, calves, chicks, etc.

if it wasnt for the dex entry on farfetch'd saying that they were very tasty (thus why they were quite rare) - i'd agree, with you, or at least they were vegitartians (difference between Vegitarians and Vegans is that Vegans don't have any kind of product made from animals, this include eggs and dairy products, as well as leather and wool made clothes, amongst many others.

As stated by the anime a few times, Miltank milk is very delicious... but would be against a vegan's belief.

Maybe some of them are just bad vegans.
Mew's Fire Red Pokedex entry reads: "A Pokemon of South America that was thought to have been extinct. It is very intelligent and learns any move".
Notice the bit about South America. Is the Pokemon World, Earth? Maybe people actually raise livestock, like sheep and cows.

If I recall, the GSC versions had a miltank farm.
I believe a little girl in the big house said that they raise them for food and milk.
And there was a Tauros farm in the anime, iirc.

Pokemon does take place on Earth, in fact, they visited Las Vegas in one of the episodes. But I think, it takes place mostly in Japan, because they do have regions named Kanto, Jhoto, Hoenn, Sinnoh (Sp?). That being said, they probably have lots of real animals.

Hmm, well with the realese of the Pokémon God Arceus, maybe he makes something special happen? Or they might only eat Pokémon that have died of natural causes or since the Pokémon world itself seems to be far more scientifically advanced than our own, they create meat with the aid of a scientific device. WHo knows, I doubt people thought about it because the anime came after the Pokémon games were such a success, if they had flopped then we might not of had the anime and therefore had this discussion so it stands to reason that when they showed humans within the Pokémon world eating meat they weren't thinking where they would have obtained said meat, or they thought it would be funny to see if anyone made a big fuss about it. So the sight of meat might of just been a prank on us to play or indeed they eat Pokémon.

There are too many possible ways that they could have obtained meat concidering that unlike our own, the Pokémon world has shown many signs of having magic, as a common occurance, and as I said before, they are more scientifically advanced than us, so in all retrospect who knows. I believe it is up to us, the fans, to make that decision. If you want what would be the correct answer then you must approach the man who started it all, the very creator of Pokémon.

Yours Sincerly
