Not exactly, with the right moves and items, a fire Pokémon could beat a water one.

I once had a typlosion in my crystal game that could wipe out any water pokemon. Key move: Thunderpunch
Anyway, so this isn't spam, My favorite pokemon seems to change alot. My favourite now is Dragonair.

The G/S/C had thunderpunch as one of Typhlosions' moves. But if ur up against a starmie, i guess you should say goodbye to yourself :p

Sorry Beaver no Octillery yet on this site and yes a fire type can sometimes can be effictive against a water type.

i posted one minute earlier than you. :p And thunderpunch is an electric type, unless of crouse you are talking about Typlosion and not thunderpunch.

That's not true. Fire can never be effective over water. Fire will always be weak to water.

It doesn't matter what moves it has, fire Pokémon will still be weak to water no matter what it's moveset is. You need to rephrase your sentences. A fire Pokémon is still weak to a water Pokémon even if it has Razor Leaf, Thunderpunch or whatever. It's still weak to water types and water type moves will deal massive amounts of damage to it always.
