Actually, cosplay and LARPing (Live-Action Role Play) aren't synonyms. It isn't a requirement to act like the character. For some characters that could get you arrested... =^.^=;; The requirement is to know the mannerisms for pictures so you will look convincing on film.Pokémon Princess wrote:Yes, because part of cosplay is dress up like the character and acting like them. So yes I do RP them in cosplay.
Er... last I checked there was no "official team." If there are groups of princesses at an event it is because Belle asked some girls to model her gowns (I wore Raichu to Pokémon Rocks America 2004 to complete the evolutions). The term "PokéWoman" is something Belle made up for her costume series, not the company. It's not uncommon to find people, cosplayers or not, to be dressed up in more human-esque forms of the Pokémon because it is much easier and cheaper than making a full mascot costume and you have so much freedom with it, as long as you don't loose the essence of the character. "Princess" is just one of the routes you can go with it. For example, my sister made a Mew costume with an Elegant Gothic Lolita theme (For those of you that are confused, Elegant Gothic Lolita/EGL is a fashion style from Japan made up of cute, frilly dresses, hats, shoes, stockings, etc. that are similar to what a stereotypical young girl would wear. Some examples can be found here. Another branch is the "Elegant Gothic Aristocrat/EGA," which takes a more aristocratic and grown up approach to the style, and is also common among men). There are just many routes you can take. =^_^=vPokémon Princess wrote:Sure which one me as Celebi or Misty, I think it Serebii (Celebi) yeah pokemon as a cosplay section we don't go with the live show. But we do work with pokemon. In fact I was support to go on the Pokemon Rocks Amercan tour but my school stuff got in the way so I could not make the tour is year. (the others too, but they not in school they all older than me, I'm the youngest on the PokeWoman Princess Team.)

Very nice costumes, I'm guessing there's a cosplay community that you all go to near where you live? Hmm, not that I'm much into cosplay but I have never seen anyone cosplay here in England, not even in London where you can usually see just about anything.

There are really cosplayers all over the world, even England! It is more of an underground thing outside of the US (where we all speak our minds even when we shouldn't). We cosplay to conventions and private photoshoots (Halloween costumes are not really cosplay, since at Samhain/Halloween, you dress as a character to dress as the character for one day, as opposed to -being- the character any day of the year. Tradtionally, costumes of evil spirits and magikal beings were worn to ward off said spirits on the only festival where one can communicate with the dead). Do an internet search for conventions in your area, they all have websites, and you can see pictures there. It is a lot of fun, especially when you see kids' eyes just light up. It is a really great feeling. I was dressed as May/Haruka for a photoshoot, and this little girl came up to me and said, "May is my favorite coordinator and Torchic is my favorite pokemon!" I took my picture with her (her family were tourists) and signed her autograph book. After that experience, I thought to myself, "This is why I cosplay." ^__^
Even thinking about that encounter makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

Well, believe it. I will be 21 in a few months, in fact. Everyone tells me I look younger than I am, and I agree with them. This will be a blessing later on, though. ^__^ I would rather look younger than older. Good thing I drive, so my ID is on me at all times.zen wrote:O_0 Oh,okay, well I'm not saying my name on this site, and I dont beleve for a second that your 20
Trust me, I am 20. I have no reason to lie about my age- especially to make myself older! ^_~.v,
