Next Event??

Hey everyone, as I said in my hello one & all thread the wife and I were gutted we missed the Shaymin give away at certain GAME stores in April.

How do we get to hear about the next Pokemon Event as I do not want to miss another (famous last words) and apologies if this question has already been asked or if I have put it in the wrong section

Any suggestions will be greatly received

this may be a bit self promotion - but keep checking TPC's home page for the latest news... we try and post that kind of thing as soon as we know about it. The problem with the shaymin event was that it was failry late notice (it was announced with a week and a day before it started if i recall). until anything is officially announced, nobody really can tell you when or where the next event will be.

For the UK, Platinum has a wi-fi event on at the moment until July 19th to get the secret key for Rotom's other forms. We're expecting all the other event items that have been released over wi-fi in japan so far to find their ways across to america and here at some point. So far they've had a Darkrai and a Shaymin one, my guess would be towards the end of the year/begining of next before you see those though.

As for physical events (ones you physically have to go to), we're expecting to hear about one soon... really soon if my thoughts are correct. It's for a Regigigas that will unlock the other Regi's in Platinum. Both Japan and America has had this one so we're the only ones not to have seen this yet. My guess was for a summer event (and given the lateness of the previous event's annoucnment i could still be right). A friend of mine thinks it might be more october half term time... which is also a possibility.

Of course all of that is just guesses, and i've been known to be wrong before (i guessed platinum would have a late june/early july uk release before they announced it would be may)... so yeah, just keep checking our news. Then you'll know when we know!

I'd like to echo WhoKnows_WhoCares statement of checking our frontpage regularly, we keep up and report the latest news including event information.

Also it's not well advertised at the moment since we don't have a web portal for it but if you know your way around IRC we have a chat room you can visit. The details are:

It's a small channel but we have a handful of regular members, some of which who own an event Shaymin. If you just want to dex it you could try coming in and asking, after which you could search on the Pokémon GTS to trade for one to keep. Of course, you could also post in our Trade Centre forums and see if anyone replies, though I'll admit it's unfortunately been a bit quiet of late.

Hey you two, thank you for the full reply s as I know what you mean about the late Shaymin event announcement it was only by chance that we caught the advert on Jetix (recording Battle Dimensions) to say GAME were doing it, and after picking up my copy from pre order they then said " we don't have Wi Fi ability here" typical. I will defiantly keep my eyes pealed on the front page for the updates as it is really good and very easy to navigate through and also thank you for the heads up on the Secret Key which has now found its way on to my game.

Finally I did hear about this Regigigas event think it was in "Pokemon World" magazine which did state the dates had yet to be announced

Oh wow is that magazine still going? I remember buying it years ago when I was younger. I event sent in this site to the little Weedle's website section, I wonder if that ever got printed :lol:

bumping this since i can't post news at the moment

looks like the uk and europe are set to get the special regigigas that can unlock the other 3 regi's in platinum. a regigigas site has gone up on nintendo europes site http://ms.nintendo-europe.com/regigigas/ - there isnt much up there yet but hopefully the dates will be announced soon.

At the shaymin event i actually predicted to a friend that we'd see this even in august... i may actually be right (for a change)

Update: Correction - the dates ARE now annoucned...
