I'd say Treecko... It's the easiest to start off with.

... Is Torchic because IMO, it evolves into the best fighting-type in the game... and it happens to be fire-type too. ^^

Swampert is a pretty durable Pokémon that is capable of taking down some pretty hefty Pokémon. And it has a decent movepool.

Favourites: :Gyarados: :Tyranitar: :Zangoose: :Drapion: Image

Red: 151/151 | Gold: 247/251 | Fire Red: 376/386 | Heart Gold: 493/493 | Black: 649/649

Yes, and also Wattson uses some dual steel type Pokémon which are actually weak to fire

Mudkip is the best because when he is Swampert he can use earthquake which is super effecteve on most pokemon. And water is better against grass then fire < water + grass < fire.

Actually, i was searching a cheat on the internet when i found a site and it says:

Q: What is the best Starter to use in Sapphire/Ruby/Emerald?
A: There is no 'best starter' because all the starters are good! Torchic, Mudkip and Treecko are the same! They are all perfect to use so there's no 'Best Starter' around just choose what you believe in, Choose what you like!

ya think thats true??i normally use Blaziken though..

That's right! All are good. But I think it's best to start of with Treecko for Ruby and Emerald. Sapphire............ emmmm.......... I really don't know?!

Forgot the `d' in shoul, but I was saying it should be :Treecko: in all games. Especially Sapphire.
