Uh... what? I agree that the series is waning. Generation 4 is the last I'll sit through. And my parents don't buy games anymore for me (except on certain holidays), I have to buy them myself with my allowance.

Re: pokemo no fun!
I don't thinks its that Pokémon is any less fun its just repetative. Your most likely tired of the same old gameplay.
My suggestion, don't obsess over it like most people do, take it slow and steady. If you were on a real Pokémon adventure you'd take about a year to reach the Pokémon league instead of a few days, or months like alot of people do. Also if your the type to play it without sound then it'll be less gripping than if you turned the sound on.
So altogether while at least going through the story play it slowly. Personally I will play it and only do one task, like train 1 or 2 of my Pokémon then call it a day. I may fight a few trainers (they aren't training they're serious battles to me) then take some sort of break. Or fight a Gym leader then call it a day, after visiting the Pokémon centre ofcourse. Concerning the Elite Four I'd take on 1 member a day, thats it. If your still in a Pokémon mood, then why not play a different Pokémon game, maybe Mystery Dungeon, so Pokémon Rangers, but I'd still trat it the same. That should keep it interesting.
How you play a game can affect how much you enjoy it.
