Hey You Pikachu!

Post by Pikachu3828 »

Did anyone actually ever play this game? It was released in Japan and America for the N64 quite a few years ago, but never in Europe. It used a vice recognition unit, and because of the wide array of languages in Europe and dialects/accents in the countries in Europe alone it simply was not feasable to release it over here.

It looked good and some fun, but I've read that it's actually quite boring. What did you have to do? Any primary information supplied on it would really be appreciated.

Hey You, Pikachu! was the first game I had for the N64... For my amusement, I'm typing...

At Walmart, when me, sis, and mom were shopping for an N64 (this was some years ago) we were at Walmart. My mom, not knowing anything about games, got some advice from a random person. He said that Hey You, Pikachu! would be a good first-video game. I wanted Pokémon Snap though. But my mom, being my mom, didn't listen to what I wanted... So that game we got instead.

Now, that isn't to say the game is totally lame. I, being a n00b of gaming wanted a game I've played before. The game was fun for me, I mean... This was years ago...

One thing I liked the most on the game was fishing. Using key words, like "Reel it in" or "Hang on" you helped Pikachu catch water Pokémon.
There was a few things that got on my nerves. Sometimes, I couldn't get Pikcahu to do what I wanted. Mostly, I recall... This time... at the beach. Pikachu was blind-folded, and I had to guide the guy to the pinata so he could hit it... and there were bananna peels on the beach too... But when I finally did it, I was so happy... Yeah. Good times. I think the game is now somewhere in my room.

I've had the game too since it came out....I guess a little over four years ago (not exactly sure on release) but it was a cool game to stay up late at night and relax with, nothin to get too worked up about, and like trainer said, the fishing was pretty fun, and all the collectables

I had it back when it was new. It was really fun, talking to pikachu, fishing, finding treasure and stuff. I remember once, I made popcorn out of corn, and Pikachu really enjoyed it =)

Good memories

I played it a looooong time ago. I still have it, but I too lost the microphone for it... I still remember it slightly but its mostly a blur. But I do remember the fishing thing and how you had to teach pikachu voice commands (or at least say it multiple times at first... that got frustrating). But I remember it was my first game for N64 and I enjoyed it since not very many games like that has ever came out (you know, where you use a microphone)...

I never played that game, but I'm eger to.

Weather it's buying it from a US shopping page, keep a sharp eye for it in Chairty Shops. it's like I'm looking everywhere for the Pokémon Print Studio in Blue.

I remember coming across the officail Site for the game years ago which gave me a good idea to what the game is about.

But not realising the game dure to varity of accents, that's the silliest excuse I've ever heard. In America there's quite a vairient of American accents. New Yorker accent toaly differant to the Accent in Alabalma.

I reconed the Europein game translaters just couldn't be boverrd. It could of been a handy language education tool for youngters. Might of helped them learn French, Spannish, German or Greek.
