This doesn't really adhere to one forum as it applies to multiple games so I'm posting it here. Ruby/Sapphire kicked off a new battle system by allowing 4 players to battle at once in 2 vs 2 battles, but did anyone actually ever take part in one? I never have personally because I don't battle much as it is, but it was also hard to get 4 people together willing to battle and you needed enough link cables for 4 Gameboy Advances.
Even with the wireless adaptor removing the need for cables, I never managed to find 4 people with the game willing to battle and get them together in close proximity to be able to use this feature. Has anyone here ever taken part in a 2 vs 2 battle with 4 players?

I played a 2 on 2 battle with four players once... however half of the players involved had never played pokemon before.
Basically, me and a friend had both a copy of ruby, saphire, fire red and leaf green between us, and three GBA's (I have two while he had one). With a third friend having a fourth GBA, and several GBA-GC link cables between the lot of us, me and my friend split up our best pokemon over the games, found a fourth player willing to try the game and played a 2 on 2 on Colosseum. We randomly selected the gameboys as well for a bit more fairness (which meant I ended up with pokemon my friend had trained up... and the two new players ended up with my ones).
The two who had never played Pokemon before thought it was fun to battle, but it didnt make them want to pick up the game. I thought it was a fun battle, but I think it would have been better if the other two had been Pokemon fans with there own trained Pokemon.

I haven't been able to do a 2 vs 2 player match because I'm always one item short. Only a total of 3 GBA/SPs, only a total of three wireless adaptors, only a total of three GBA link cables for the GCN...
If Colosseum's battle mode was set up like the Stadium games on the N64 (how you could register teams on the game for later use) then it would be more likely that I could pull off a 2 vs 2 match... Oh well.. It's nice to know that you could. @_<;

I drop by every now and then... I shall never be just a memory! *cackles*
