Re: getting tired of the characters?
Personally I think all the characters have their strengths and weakness'.
As everyone says Misty is annoying because she moaned too much. May seems much too timid as a protagonist even after she left. Dawn...is such a child, she makes Ash seem like a mature adult. Iris is very arrogant towards Ash at times. So they all have their downsides.
As for the gentlemen. Brock, falls in love too easily that it gets irritating, though it is amazing how he can tell the difference between all the Nurse Joy's and Officer Jenny's, something we can commend him for but his attraction is still irritating. Tracey seemed to into Professor Oak, he was like a rabid fan boy, something everyone hates even if they are one. Cilen is too refined, we get he has class but can he show some idiocy or immaturity just so we know he's normal. And before any of you start with the "None of the characters are normal" speech, they are. All these characters have factors we can admire while also displaying they aren't perfect, this is common with every single human being we just get so familiar with it we feel comfortable regarding it as abnormal.
The only abnormal thing in Pokémon is the Pokémon themselves, as they are supposed to be that worlds substitute for animals but animals don't show human characteristics as clearly as Pokémon do.
