Hello everyone, I'm Rob, I'm from Manchester and I'm in my early twenties (i.e the generation that loved Pokemon from it's release here onwards) all my friends love Pokemon but I've come here to find some more. I've played all the main series games (well, at least one of each pairing) but like most people I still feel the original games and their remakes are the best. can't say I rate the recent efforts, especially black and white I think Tajiri San is scraping the barrel a little these days, I would guess he's delegated Pokemon design to five year olds or something.
Before I end up ranting and going on about the good old days, I would like to say hello to everyone here and I hope I have a good time here and make a few friends.

Hi Rob. I'm from the same age group as you and have the same similar opinions. It's a shame you didn't like Black and White, however. IMO Gen V is a return to form after the downward spiral that was Gen III/IV. I'd go so far as to say after Pokémon Gold Pokémon Black is my favourite of the main series. What specifically didn't you like about B/W?

Re: Tidings fellow trainers!
Mainly it was the Pokemon themselves, the setting was rather nice and I did enjoy visiting a proper big city in a Pokemon game. My other gripe was being asked to go online every time I switched on my DS, I don't understand the need to be constantly connected. Video games are meant to be an escape from reality after all. Mainly it was the Pokemon though, I didn't feel any attachment or liking to all but a few of them. With the first two generations I felt that THEY WERE Pokemon, now it feels more like Nintendo are trying to convince me that childish scribblings with uninventive names and unconvincing type combinations are Pokemon.
