Idea for a new forum rule

well since there is a wave of new people comming here I have been seeing 1 month to 1 year old topics being posted in. This clutters up some forums like the trades forum. I suggest a rule be put in place that a person should not post in a topic that is over 2 weeks old.

basically make it against the rules to bump really old topics.

What if that topic is useful and yeah... What about only the author of the topic can bump it and also mods can. I've seen 2 year old posts being bumped... that's annoying

those would be exceptions but still only the author and/or mods should only be allowed to bump topics. doesn't apply to stickies and announcements.

I agree that it is now becoming an annoyance. Once a suitable date is set to determine whether a topic is "old" I'll add a rule.

I think that should be a rule . You should have somthing thats kills a topic after a month . Or earlier ^_^

That's called pruning... You should be able to look at it but not to post in it.
