Newbie forum suggestion

Too many people are hijacking other people's thread, maybe there should be a message beside the New Topic button that could be changed to "Introduce Yourself Here". Or text beside the button for the forum.

I think it can. I visited other forums and they have different New Topic and Post Reply buttons

That doesn't really make sense... New topic is to make a new topic, whatever the topic mat be about. But what you're saying is we should limit the button to only be used for Introducing yourself, while it can be used for many other things.

You don't get it, don't you? The button can be used to create the things mentioned in the description, but it says "Introduce yourself" because newbies are hijacking other people's threads and lack common sense by doing so. That is why we need this button, most people who say things like "It's my bday" and "I'm going away" would likely know that it does make a new topic.

I realize that. I just don't think it's really neccessary. And, I just think that 'New Topic' just fits the definition of it's use better.

How come newbies don't know how to use it then? They hijack other people's threads and cause horrible things.

it wont stop people hijacking other peoples threads. They reply to others because they dont realise they should create their own topics. More importantly, a lot of what you might determin as hijacking is well within the rules of the forum

Maybe there should be bold text saying
"INTRODUCE YOUR SELF HERE!" with an image of an arrow pointing down at the button.
