I've always been more mature than other people my age. My annoyance level rises rather quickly though... *hint*

Yes but its still not the responsibility of ours to make sure they type properly, but you can do a lot by acting like a good role model in the ways of typing on the site....

You do act mature for your age, even like 16 years of age, but this idea of yours is not one of your more mature ideas, in my opinion. I just don't see how it's really our responsibility to TEACH thembetter english, almost if not forcingly! Maybe in helpful, non rude way, yeah. But a whole forum?

I know what you mean. You could be a good role model and politely point out their spelling arror and all and tell them that this is not a chatroom. THat much I know you can easily do.

pikapower06 wrote:I know what you mean. You could be a good role model and politely point out their spelling arror and all and tell them that this is not a chatroom. THat much I know you can easily do.

arror:
Possible meanings:
1. error
2. ardor
3. armor
4. arrow
5. arbor
Most likely:
1. error
Conclusion:
It is probably error, due to the fact that there is no such thing as spelling arbor, and spelling armor and spelling arrow are not logical used in the current context. Spelling ardor is a phrase that I would likely use, although it dosen't make sense when used in the current context.

THat:
Possible meanings:
1.That
Most likely:
1.That
Conclusion:
A simple grammer mistake, probably the result of holding down the 'SHIFT' key for longer than the necessary time.

easily:
Possible meanings:
(none)
Most likely:
(none)
Conclusion:
A misused word. Considering how much effort was taken to correct your post, the word easily wouldn't apply to the current situation.

The corrected post:
pikapower06 wrote:I know what you mean. You could be a good role model and politely point out their spelling error and all and tell them that this is not a chatroom. That much I know you can barely do.

*Removes collage prefessor glasses*

Dang.

EDIT:

*Replaces glasses*

Thats:
Possible meanings:
1. That's (That is)
Most likely:
1. That's (That is)
Conclusion:
There must be an apostrophe after the 'that' and before the 's'

Possible meanings:
1. (Needs a period)
2. (Is not a complete sentence)
Most likely:
1. (Needs a period)
Conclusion:
The sentence needs a period at the end.

Corrected sentence:

You mean 'Doesn't'
miradapurple wrote: A simple grammer mistake, probably the result of holding down the 'SHIFT' key for longer than the necessary time.
It's spelt 'grammar'
miradapurple wrote: *Removes collage prefessor glasses*
It's spelt 'college' and 'professor'

See how we all make mistakes? There's no need to be so anal about it, you all act like this forum is overrun with people that txt tlk. It is not. You are all nitpicking minor errors, which we will all make from time to time. If you're going to nitpick, then your suggestions of ardor and armor are also wrong;

As such they should be spelt ardour and armour respectively, but we are not that anal.

The forums are not in such a disaster crisis as you are all making out. We would not let it get to the point where txt tlk is ever accepted, but we are realistic and realise that given the main age demographic of this forum spelling and grammar will not be perfect. Accept it.

There isn't much of a difference between American English and British English, except that some words are spelt differently like check and cheque. On the other hand, Canadian English is a mix of both American and British English, we spell some words like Americans because they have more infulence on Canadians than the British spelling.

Not true, as well as spelling differences there are also grammatical differences.

I don't really care about the small grammatical differences between the types of English, as long as it makes sense and people use periods and commas, I'm okay with that.

That's irrelevant, the forums use Standard British English as the official language. My point is we are not so strict as to point out minor differences in spelling/grammar and this goes for typos too. We are not about to start telling users how to type; there are rules in place against 'noob speak' and txt tlk and that is enough.
