I think you should take out the "draw" thing in battles because of 2 things.
#1:Even if the enemy has 1 hp and my pokemon has full HP and I attack its a draw.
#2:You said that you want the battle system to be like the gameboy but there are no draw battles in the gameboy games.

actually in both instances if the pokemon is the last one on your team not fainted it will act like you lost and the opponent won but in a sense if you have more than one not fainted it is like a tie.Pikachu3828 wrote:Yes there are. Also there is actual Draws in Emerald at the Battle Arena but only through Judging.
