The Halo Series

(Seeing as how there is already a Halo 2 topic, I hope it doesn't bother anyone that I make a topic about Halo 1.)
Anyways,
What do you think of the 1st Halo Game? I personally think it's great, the fantastic AI of the Humans and Covenent go well together, as well as the operation of the Vehicles. The 2-Weapons-At-Once deal sometimes makes it more challenging, but more funner, yes. But personally, I find it more interesting on multiplayer, I admit I kinda suck at it, but nontheless, it's fun, especially when there's a goal involved and you're on a team.
(I have Halo 1, the PC Version, btw.)

I've played the original Halo on Xbox round a few of my friends' houses on multiplayer and it can be quite fun, I can see why so many enjoy it. It's fun to go on the level where you have a red base and a blue base at either end (I forgot the name of the map) and the large mass of land in the middle. You can do a lot of things on there, like sniping from one base to another, driving the Warthog, using the rocket launcher, hiding in the mountains and much more. Not enough for me to want to buy it myself, but fun nonetheless. (Even though I do actually have Halo on this PC but it's my dad's)

Yes, and I believe the map you're referring to is Blood Gulch, but it's hard to tell considering almost all of the maps are based like that, my favorite multiplayer play is CTF,, and I also play the CE(Custom Edition) version of Halo.(Special thing that lets you play user created content and some other special features, but it was too big a update for Bungie to release it for the PC/Mac Version of Halo so they made it separate and optional.) I even have a funny/odd occurence to share on it.

Description:user created map, hangar bases each on a mountain side across from eachother (based on the port decks seen in the last mission of Halo 1 in the final room), with a huge field in the middle. A few new vehicles, such as a drivable and ridable Pelican, the Longsword Fighter, Missile and Sniper Bullet Warthogs, and the Tsuwhatever(forgot the name of it, ).

On a Pelican, I was on the cargo seat with two other teammates and a teammate driver on the map 'hugeass'. We were fooling around so one of my teammates shot a rocket down at the field, and it happened to hit and kill a fellow teammate (understand that we were HIGH up in the field, so the rocket would take quite a while to reach the field itself), (and that he wasn't aiming at all, just shot it) I believe the guy was in a Warthog(driving in the field) and we all ROFLed and WTFed(including the guy who got betrayed, but he took it well, nice guy.) Too bad one of us didn't catch that on camera, and this was also on my server. .
(iIf you have no idea how the rocket works on this map, instead of grenades, you launch rockets instead of grenades, and they are infinite, but they only work with the Assault Rifle.)

I met up with some friends yesterday and some of them brought round their Xbox and Halo 2 and we had some 4-player matches on a number of maps that I can't remember the name of, but I remember they said they'd got them from the expansion pack disc. Anyway, my friend who brought round the Xbox and his brother were pretty good Halo players, as they owned it and played it often. I had only played it a few times round some friends' houses and my other friend even less, so to make thing slightly fairer the Xbox owner and his brother went on their own and me and the inexperienced guy went on the same team. Needless to say we get pwned. It was up to 50 kills. The Xbox owner's brother seemed to love using the plasma sword and somehow always managed to sneak up behind us and kill us. Anyway to score ended up roughly with 50 for the brother, 35 for the Xbox owner and a measly 8 for us (8 kills by me, 0 by my partner, he actually managed to get -1 and one point but pulled himself back)

To be honest i feel Halo: CE is by far the best out of the 2 Halo games when it comes to the Campaign side of the game! I was rather dissapointed with Halo 2's storyline it didn't quite cut it for me. But on the multiplayer side Halo 2 is by far the superior of the two! All i can say is roll on Halo 3
