I've thought of many games over WiFi, and so I'll end up making polls and stuff for them. Try them out! I like making new games, and... Yeah. n_n
Anyways, procedure/rules for the "fishoff" which is a shortened and easier to type version than "The ten-minute fishing tourney." =P
To play...:
[] 2-4 people for best results
[] Fishing rod for each participant
[] 1 Timer
Fishoff "procedure":
[1] The host starts the timer at 10 minutes once everyone is at the beach. The fishoff has started!
[2] Everyone starts to fish for OCEAN FISH ONLY. (there are many reasons for this. I'll explain in a ramble at the end. =P)
[3] After ten minutes are up, any fish caught afterwards DO NOT COUNT. Head striaght to the front of the shop and wait for everyone to be there.
[4] Everyone shows off the most expensive fish they caught. In the case of a tie, then the tied people show off their second most expensive fish until there is a winner, but if after five fish showings (that number is debated) if there still are ties, then those two are tied for first.
[5] Everyone sells their catches and says how much exactly they got for selling all of their fish caught in 10 minutes. Selling shells or random items do not count... =_=
[6] If the host wishes for prizes, then feel free, although I never have done prizes... I just do lots of fishoffs. =P

The rambling on its improvement:
One of my friends dubbed the name "fishoff" to shorten the two or three line long name I gave it. xD
Originally, it was set for 15 minutes, but as my friends and I got much better at fishing, which did not take long, we would have a full inventory at about 10 minutes, and have to start throwing out horse mackeral (sp?) after than while we waited for the timer to run out... So if your group of friends and yourself are beginners, feel free to use 15 minutes instead of 10.
The reason for only ocean fish is that it's easier to remember only ocean fish prices, and there's always year-round a handful of expensive ocean fish. It's also easy to catch ocean fish (sometimes river fish go to the other side, etc.) . If you use river fish (as a combintion, or only river fish) you should set the timer at 15 minutes because of the extra time to catch river fish. River fish are best included during the summer when expensive fish tend to be more common.
The contest is truely decided on the winner from the fish shown off, since it's the only possible way to PROVE that there is a winner. Of course, it also helps to play with honest friends. If one of your friends turns up with a tuna after every fishoff in a row, you might have to start to wonder... ¬¬
If I'm throwing a WiFi party with lots of games planned, I tend to have spare rods just in case... For some strange reason, sometimes people won't have their *gasp* FISHING ROD with them! ... I always carry one in my letters, so I don't understand why they don't... ._.;
Technically, I guess you could play this game against yourself to see how many fish you can catch in a time limit and compare yourself with yourself on multiiple times, but... Eh, that doesn't seem as fun to me... ^^;
