Guitar Hero Vs. Rock Band?

So, now that Guitar Hero is adding Drums and a Microphone to their lineup(http://www.guitarhero.com), It's pretty much the same as Rock Band. Which is better in your opinion?

Rock Band... the original. The people look more realistic, the music is awesome, and guitar hero 3 had bad graphics.

PS3 & XBOX360 version of RB had create your character, play online, form a band, downloadable songs, world tour, and band quickplay. (and other stuff, of course!)

Even with the PS2 and Wii version... it's still friggin' awesome.

RB's person creator has cooler clothes.

Basically Neversoft trying to copy RB. Still... I'm a fan of 1, 2, and 3.

I'm going to have to go with Guitar Hero simply because it's the only one I've played. Also, Rock Band is damned expensive.

that depens on if you play everything... if you just want rockband for the drums, its still expensive.

also if guitar hero is adding drums and a microphone, i'm not 100% surprised. Guitar hero had basically done the same thing singstar had done, release a popular game then release sequils that had just different songs because they thought they had the market and nobody else could touch it without looking like a cheep knockoff... then rock band was announced. The guys behind GH must have looked at that and thought 'we're done for'

I doubt they thought, "we're done for". Guitar Hero has already built up a brand name and is a well known game series. All Rock Band entering the fray means is Guitar Hero has to step up their game, which they are doing by adding microphone, drums and bass.

It's not as if there is much room for originality or that Guitar Hero is specifically copying Rock Band. Nearly all rock bands consist of guitar, bass, drums and vocals. It's common ground, like say all beat 'em ups contain fighting.

I wouldnt choose Rock Band over Guitar Hero because of the pricing. Guitar Hero is gonna raise their prices as well when they add the new stuff in World Tour.

I didn't choose it over that, that was just a side note. I chose GH over RB because I've only played GH which is almost as bad a selection criteria, but without playing RB I can't know otherwise.

I see.... When compared to each other, I would still choose GH over RB because of the option to record your own songs...
