Re: Animal Crossing wii.
Here's some more hard facts.
It's gonna be called Animal Crossing: City Folk
It's going to have 2 sections, the town where you live and do stuff, and the City where all the shops will be.
There will be new shops in the city along with all the old ones we are used to
You'll be able to make your character look like your Mii
New Wii Speak, a microphone periphiral will allow voice chat through the game. It wont be a headset like the other consoles, but more like a teleconfrencing microphone, sitting on the tv allowing multiple people to talk.
It should be out by the end of the year

Re: Animal Crossing wii.
Having seen the trailer I have to say I'm pretty disappointed with what I've seen. There doesn't seem to be much new in the way of general gameplay and features in your town, it all seems like a bigger version of the DS game. The big new aspect is the inclusion of a City, which I don't like as I like the small village charm of the old Animal Crossings.
I'll wait till I see more, but this might be one I'll be skipping out on.

Re: Animal Crossing wii.
They brought back holidays, at least some, so that's good. Having the option of a city is good. The camera style is that of Wild World, which I don't care for much compared to the old style. They also tweaked a few more things. So far, I like it.

Re: Animal Crossing wii.
watching some e3 footage, and the city looks alright. a lot of the major shops are there, there's an auction house where you can obviously bid on things, but you can also auction off some of your stuff as well. Gracie now has a shop, which seems to be run by s purple hedgehog looking girl called 'Labelle' - she looks a lot like Sabelle/Mabelle - a relation perhaps?
You get to the city via a bus, driven by Kapp'n, so plenty of cool quotes by him this time around... i missed his conversations from WW, since you only really saw him once in your game.

Re: Animal Crossing wii.
I prefer the scrolling style layout of Wild World to the grid-based Zelda-esque map of the original Animal Crossing. It gives a sense of a larger and more flowing town, in my opinion.

Re: Animal Crossing wii.
i just thought today... why has no conectivity between the DS and the Wii versions been announced or hinted at. We know its possible... we pretty much assume nintendo want to promote this kind of thing more... so where is it?

Re: Animal Crossing wii.
Animal Crossing:Wild World has been out for a number of years now and was in development at least a year before that. I'm sure if any connectivity were to be announced, it would be strictly one way. I can't see any connectivity to City Folk having been built into Wild World considering the time gap between the two releases.
Then again, it's early days and we don't have that many details yet.

Re: Animal Crossing wii.
i doubt My Pokemon Ranch was planned when Diamond and Pearl was made... yet there's a connectivity between those.
The trick is to fool the DS game to thinking there's another DS talking to it... when it is in fact the wii... though what could be done between the two i do not know.

I'd assume villager migration, or perhaps you will be able to transfer your patterns.
*shrug* I'm sure it won't be a significant connection, if there is one.

Re: Animal Crossing wii.
Getting to be mayor of your own town would be cool. Being able to do stuff like accept/reject villager applications, residence zoning etc. Not too Sim Cityish but it adds some more customisation to the game. Tortimer can be mayor of the city.

Animal Crossing: City Folk
As some of you may know, this will be the wii version of Animal Crossing.
It comes out on November 16 (6 days from now!).
It's similar to the other games- only a hundred times better!
Nintendo Power magazine has had a few articles on it already.
Basically, you live in a similar town (cliffs are back),
but you can hop on a train to the City!
Plus there are lots of other cool new things.
