You have to list the steps, but make sure your steps connect to the last one. (I.E. use words like 'then' and stuff and read the last one made)

Right EX:
Bob: 6. Then grab a hammer
Sue: 7. Make sure the hammer isn't broke, first, though

Wrong EX:
Bob: 6. Then grab a hammer
Sue: Eat your happy meal you just ordered!

Don't do the second EX!

1. Get loads of nails.
