Pokemon Ranch

Yep... the wii shop channel got it today.
I bought it...
but it's actually not so good.
Storage is very limited,
and there's also that gnasty little 'condition':
Pokemon may only return to the game cartrige they came from,
and only if its the same file.
Basically, if you restart diamond or pearl,
your Pokemon are trapped at the ranch: forever.
Oh, and only twenty Pokemon can be stored at first.
Yeah... not all I'd thought It'd be.
Anyone else have anthing to share?

Really? What's the reason for that move? Seems like it would unnecessarily clog up the Ranch.
Kinda makes the point of it being a glorified box system moot if you can't back them up there for protection, which would be a good use for it in case your cartridge gets damaged/lost/stolen and you don't want to lose your Pokémon.
Oh, and only twenty Pokemon can be stored at first.
See above.

I completely agree.
This ruins everything.
I had wanted to restart my game,
since I get bored without something to do in the summer,
but I didn't want to lose the shinies I spent countless trades aquiring.
Also, I have some competitive wi-fi battling teams I don't want to lose.
After all, I spent quite a while EV training them!
I guess the only way to get around it would be to wait till platinum comes out,
and use Pearl as an intermediate between that and ranch.
Of course, if I lose Pearl....
Ugh, Nintendo always messes everything up. >___<

I'll get this when it comes out over here, but that seems like a right pain in the butt. I don't know why Nintendo wouldn't want you restarting to be honest, because that's what it seems like. The only thing it could be for is if you have siblings and they also have Pokémon...
