Help needed!

First off all, I'm completely confused with those friend codes and how you can connect global with your DS having diamond/pearl and so.
I'm so first and second generation of pokemons so this is all new to me. Thanks to my dear friend I finally got Pearl.
Moving on to real problem, I need help with this one:

I tried to follow the rules but something isn't right since I don't get mystery gift in my menu.

yeah - i know your problem. Nintedo has forgoten that anybody who just has diamond and pearl (and i think platinum as well) does not automatically have mystery gift unlocked and has to unlock it manually

here's what to do:

Go to Jubilife City, head to the TV studio.

Go up to the 3rd Floor

There's a man and woman standing next to each other, talk to the man. He'll ask you a couple of questions, to which you input the following 2 phrases

"EVERYONE HAPPY"

"WI-FI CONNECTION"

After that, save your game - next time you turn it on, Mystery Gift will be added to the main menu... the rest of the process is identical to how it is on the site

yeah, i'm not in america myself - waiting for them to hit the UK

The Mystery Gift is always a good thing to have on, as any event pokemon, real life (as in you go to it) or over wi-fi (which you can do in the comfort of your own home) use mystery gift to obtain it

the only problem is that with the 4th gen games being phased out soon, there may not be many more events you can get
