Don't make irrelevant posts in old topics. I realise you're trying to get people to click your egg, but you're doing it wrong.
Firstly, THIS is the correct code to use:
You will know it's working when you see a picture of your egg.
Secondly it's best put in your signature. It will save you having to manually add the code each time. To edit your signature go to User Control Panel -> Profile -> Edit signature.
Thirdly half the point of the adoption centre is that you show off your egg not just here but other places on the Internet. Do you own your own website? Go to any other forums? The adoption centre provides many sharing options enabling you to maximise your clicks by asking as many people on the internet as you can.
