Thanks. At the rate that some peoples enigma berries were working I'm just happy that I was actually lucky enought to get one through breeding.

Do you have to view bred eggs to see if they're shiny, or will it show up when you actually collect them?

no idea on the egg - i've never seen a shiny one show up at all...

the card is probably because of Giratina - its been a bit of a problem due to its forms and stuff

Just bred a shiny Tropius without any berries or augments, wasn't even trying... There I was just hatching my eggs to submit to the range and out pops a shiny *feels like a winner*

I am lucky, having the first shiny on the site, and even running into a shiny rattata in HeartGold after I joined, though I didn't catch it I think I've had a fair amount of shiny luck both on and off site, plus I've owned a few shinies back in the day

Lucky, encountering shinies! I never seen a shiny pokemon in the games ONCE. (How do you get legendarys? I see so many users with them...)

You're not alone. So far, the only shiny Pokemon I've ever gotten without cheating, trading, or the game taking pity on me and building one into the storyline (Lake of Rage, I'm looking at you) is the lovely shiny Venusaur I have here, and even that I only got because I got a Starman item to use on her. By comparison, my Golett has been carrying an Enigma Berry for months and is still the same color.

As for the legendary Pokemon, it depends on the Pokemon. Some of them might be rewards for completing quests, some might be prizes for one or another achievement, and some I'm told were given out as special events once. (I think the legendary Kanto birds were a Christmas present one year or something; I wasn't playing yet when people got them, so I wouldn't know.)

the legendary birds have been given away each x-mas since the AA has been open. with a bit of luck - they'll be given away christmas day again this year
