Which would you prefer - new storyline or new Pokémon?

Ever since Gold/Silver came out, each Pokémon sequel has had the same basic storyline as Red/Blue, but with some new Pokémon. The goal is to become a Pokémon master by defeating the Elite Four and catching all the Pokémon. All each new series brings in is a host of new Pokémon to try and increase this challenge, but really, the story's getting rather old now It's been through about 3 different games series now and is getting tiring.

If a new Pokémon game was to be coming out, which would you prefer? Would you rather have, like they always have done, a brand new menagerie of Pokémon, or would you prefer a brand new storyline instead? Out of the choice of these two, which one would you rather have, and why?

old stuff and new story line because I like collecting the badges and beating the elite 4 but after that there is barely any thing to the games.

they should do something like gold and silver and go to a region that was in a past game.

They've already released enough pokemon for one game so... probably a new storyline. Like Powerchu said, collecting badges and battling the Elite 4 is fun, but after what? 8 games? It's getting a little old...

new story line- I don't think a game simliar to GSC with new pokemon would intrest anyone and Pokémon game sales will go down about 75%. Nintendo already released enough new pokemon

So true. New Pokémon are great and all, but well... 351ish is good enough for me!

While I would prefer both, I would much rather have a new storyline, I'm lucky that I can tell all 386 pokemon by sight, besides know most of their types.

I know you asked an or question, but this series has been out for a long time. And with the transition from Red/Blue/Yellow to Gold/Silver/Crystal they were able to do a lot. So I think it's fair to say that I want both. The next games are going to be on the Nintendo DS anyway, so that allows for more off the back. And I think that when I say both, a new storyline to me means a new region with new evil, that's it. The Pokemon games are and always should be about becoming the master of pokemon or whatever. And new pokemom should come along with a new region as well. But I think if new pokemon won't be added, i think that they should make new evolutions of the first 151...

I'd say new storyline. I admit, beating the Gyms/Elite 4 and completing the Pokedex is still fun after all these years, but there's not much else to do after you accomplish those. Colosseum was a nice change from the repetitiveness of the GB games, but it just wasn't long enough. Hopefully Pokemon XD will be longer than Colosseum in terms of storyline.

I think a new storyline would be better, because it would make it more interesting. There are more than enough pokémon already.

I would simply enjoy a new storyline than new Pokemon. I mean, I would have much rather enjoyed Silver/Gold/Crystal with better graphics and a different storyline better than Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald, heck I wouldn't even care if the graphics didn't change much... I would still perfer a newer storyline. I loved the First and Second generation a lot better than the current one, (I mean come on... Nosepass, Gorebyss, Lovedisk, and the Regis?) Theres more pokemon than that which I don't much care for in the third generation...

The storyline over and over again bugs me so much. And even secondary storylines/objectives arent that different... they switch from Team Rocket to Team Magma/Aqua, big wow. And lately I havent cared to catch all the pokemon because I'm not even ceratin that thats possible anymore... (CAN you catch all the 2nd generation Pokemon (including link trading) in Firered/Leafgreen/Emerald/Ruby/Sapphire) Well, I don't actualy know if all the 2nd generation pokemon are catchable or not, so don't take my word for it =P

Basicly, I think a more well developed storyline would be much more appealing than new Pokemon. That summed all that typing up <.<

both,but the one I would like more is a new story line because if there was new pokemon it would make less ideas for me to make my own pokemon
