Can someone please tell me how to catch Pokemon. And what to do on the game

Well you don't exactly catch pokemon. You can hatch them though. You can get eggs from various places like Prof. Elm, the vistors in Faraway Cave, the egg lottery, sometimes from the Weekly Promo, and other places. But you can go fishing at the Harbour after you get a fishing rod.
