Update 2.0 Dev Diary

I thought I'd create this just to whet people's appetites for the newest update which I wish to officially announce will be v2.0, not 1.5 (although I have already unintentionally revealed this to some of our IRC regulars). Rather than simply a list of what is to come like the usual update topics, I thought I'd make this topic like a diary where I post 'entries' every now and again of what I've been working on, mostly consisting of some sneak peek screenshots and a little bit of an accompanying text. Keeps me on my toes and gives you something to look forward to! As this is currently in development the final product may not look like the screenshots you see.

This will now appear on almost all pages if you are not logged in, which should eliminate the issue some users face when they obtain eggs before registering with Professor Rowan.

it's looking good so far! i can't wait for the new layout. don't have to click all the way to breeding pokemon just to collect eggs. lol

A day of tweaking and fixing things behind the scenes, not much to show unfortunately so here's the updates frontpage as it looks at the moment:

It has been about a week since the last update, mostly due to my recent work on the PHPokédex which took up a lot of my time.

However I have still found the time to show you guys another new feature, albeit a small one.

There's a new feature called the 'Hourly Gift'. You have to be pretty quick with this one but it's worth it!

Every hour a random minute will be picked. If you happen to be browsing at that particular minute, you will see this pop up in the event box. Hurry up and snatch it! It's open to everyone and there's only one prize so it's first come, first serve!


If you're quick enough you'll get a random prize. I only won money here but you can also win breeder exp, exp for a random Pokémon in your party or an item. This is the only place you can get the Starman item, which allows you to turn one of your Pokémon shiny (yes, this does mean we are now using sprites from other Nintendo game series as well).

It's been a little while since another update, this time since I recently got Pokémon Black and have been playing a lot of that

Still, time to show off an update! There will be a new Shopping Centre featuring user made shops! You will now be able to buy and sell items and Pokémon from each other!

In other news the update is almost ready for testing, which means (barring major bugs being found of course!) it's almost ready for release!
