I almost Died too. I was playing with my friend's younger cousins. We were on one of the inter tube things at the beach. It was a hot humid day, and I was pulling the tobaggon into the water when A 7 foot wave came and sucked me in with it's riptide. This was very odd because the waves in Maine only come up to be about 3 feet tall. 1/2 on a good day. When all hope seemed lost a surfer came and rescued me.
Once when I was twelve I saw a ten foot wave I think. Either way It was on the horizon. Much like the wave in the beginning of kingdom hearts when Riku's all like Oh I'm so Cool, I don't have to move when a big wave hits me on the back. I don't think anybody on this forum had been through anything worce than that.

I once got caught in a riptide, too.
It was really scary, since I was only in 2nd grade and couldn't swim well.
My brother, friend, and I ended up digging our arms into the sand,
and managed to stay like that until it was passed-
nearly drowning in the process, but we made it out okay.

Went to see the film "Marley & Me" last night. enjoyed it through & through. Extreamly funny, tho it got very emotional toward the end.
I honestly do recommend it to others, tho a packet of tissues will be helpful.
