Re: Fav iPhone Apps
I considered the iPhone before it was released but decided not to get it due to its price and technical limitations (though most of them have been done away with in more recent hardware and software iterations)
Even so I'm happy with my Nokia N95.

Re: Fav iPhone Apps
I've been hivering and hovering over getting the Iphone.
Tho so far i am pleased with a lot of the aps - from the app calculating everyone's equal share of the food bill when dining with a lot of friends. (which can se just as easily done with a standard calculator - or happen to be good with maths)
Find local services and facilities from ur current location.
But I don't feel ready to part from my N95 (8gb) just yet.
Even tho with Iphone I would have the advantage of effortless syncage to Itunes and with some apps can play vs with my fiance's iphone... the one mian thing I would miss is being able to take great pictures without somuch blur... (may as well get a separate camera - lol)
I feel like I'm having dejavu to be honest... nevermind...

Hmmm, I beta test and review iPhone games, and I am currently coding my first Objective C ++ application for this mobile system. Quite nice.
Well, Timmy, aren't you being a cotton-headed ninny muggins.

Re: Fav iPhone Apps
You're learning to code for the iPhone? That's really impressive; I had a cursory glance at it once since I'd read the creators of the most popular "pull my finger" app make thousands and thousands from it. However it looked far too complicated for me

Yeah, I've been taking classes, and once I finally get $99 I'm gonna buy the official Developer's Package. I've created a very basic app with the rudimentary APIs on their free Dev Kit (It's a smiley face), and I'm learning more. I'm also taking game programming.

Fazzy I'd Be delighted if you'd make some sort of Pokemon app.

Re: Fav iPhone Apps
Saying that, about a week after my last post on this thread, I go and GET the Iphone...
Already I have chockered it with a fair load of apps, ones I use most often is Facebook (no suprise there).
I have found the AroundMe Ap most useful when I am out and about, I have already put on TubeStatus, which is a very basic ap, which checks that status of each tube line of the London Underground...
Also, I have put on a nifty little ap called IRChon, which is a basic IRC client... only snag is that it knocks off the last letter of my nick, ( AnnekaLil )
I do keep an eye out for other apps to put on that are of some use...

Weirdos can only contact you if you friend them. Nobody can view your profile if you haven't added them as a friend. FACEBOOK IS AWESOME.
EDIT:
Oh, and for the fool who thinks I can just go ahead and make myself a pokemon app, I can't. Nintendo won't allow any of their content on other systems, and If i just made an app I would get hit with a ton of legal charges and accusations. Apple also screens EVERY SINGLE application that is submitted to the app store, and it would be rejected. Also, coding a game that huge would take months, and I have a life.

Re: Fav iPhone Apps
nobody said it had to be a game - something akin to a poketch app, maybe a type checker... hell a simple pokedex with name, national id and type probably would have sufficed...
that said, fazzy is correct with the legal stuff - if there's IS a pokemon app for the iphone, it will be made by nintendo and that's as about likely as a Mario game apearing on xbox360....

Re: Fav iPhone Apps
Some apps on the iPhone are absolutly useful. Others like those farting apps are useless and only serve to take away space from the good developers. I've heard the review process for Apple is very extensive, although some like the baby shaking app got though, they seem to have varied standards for apps like these. I believe part of the agreement, you are not allowed to use copyrighted material in your application, so obviously a Pokemon app would not work. A webapp can work but not an app.
BTW, Facebook can be extremely useful if used correctly. Some of my friends would often post pictures and other material that would haunt later on in life. I am very careful in what I do and I tried to get an alias (Art Vandelay), and I failed. I'll try getting another alias.
