Which Kanto?

A good point was raised by Pikachu90000 in another topic which inspired this topic. We know that Kanto is confirmed as a region in HG/SS. The question is, what version of Kanto? There are four possibilities:

R/B Kanto: The original Kanto region from the Pokémon Red/Blue games all those years ago.

G/S Kanto: The modified Kanto featured in Pokémon Gold/Silver which was scaled back somewhat (no Safari Zone, for example).

FR/LG Kanto: The Kanto from Pokémon Fire Red/Leaf Green, which featured among other modifications the Sevii Islands.

Brand new Kanto: The games could feature a brand new reimagined Kanto. Unlikely, but possible.

Which do you think will be included?

Given that the Kanto in the GSC games were likely scaled back due to the lack of storage inside the cartage, I would hope that the remakes would feature at least a good Kanto on par with that from the 1st generation.

However it seems unlikely that the developers would ruin the experience of those who were already used to the scaled back version of Kanto they had in the orignal games. I say they are going with the GSC Kanto.

Anything BUT the GSC Kanta, as that was the only letdown in the game imo.

LGFR Kanto Would be awesome, esp the sevii isles.

Personally I think they're going to be going for the FR/LG Kanto - it's the latest 'official' rendering of the region.

Since its a Gold/Silver remake, i reckon its going to be the GSC version of kanto. For a post game area, its still very good... and one of the largest in any pokemon game.

That said, we know that there are extra areas put into Jhoto, like the area west of cianwood, the platform bit next to the national park (which may or may not be just an extension of the park itself) so there could be extra bits added to it, i'm guessing it might just be the bits that were removed without much explination, like the safari park.

If (and in my opinion its a big if) the LG/FR version gets into the game, you wont see the sevii islands... there's no way they'd include those as well, as they'd probably be pushing space on the cart already.

Either way, we're goin to get yet ANOTHER graphic update look on the Kanto region.

Space on the cart?

No such limit... DPP have been a 32Mb, but you can get games at 128Mb+. Space on the cart is not a problem when all it is is basically flash memory..

I really hope for the sevii isles.

I would hope for a new one but would not be fussed either way

It will almost certainly be a remake of the G/S/C kanto, having to put moltres not on the volcano on the sevi islands (which probably wont make it on HG/SS) but back into victory road like on red blue green and yellow

I think they're donna use an updated version of the FR/LG Kanto, but either way I don't mind.

I Loved the G/S/C/ Because the Safari Zone was Closed off. I Loved the gameshark code that enabled you to go inside of it. I find beta codes like this to be very interesting.
