Snow day!
So much to my surprise my local area has a snow day today! It was really odd that we had snow before Christmas so I thought we had had our lot for the year but now it's snowing far worse than it ever did before Christmas. Practically nothing around here is open.
Did anyone else get snow?

Re: Snow day!
coldest winter in britian in decades (anywhere between 30-100 years depending on who you listen to) - so i'm not suprised there's a lot of snow... more is on its way as well.
I'm not to badly hit around here, so i'm still in work... roads can be a bit dodgy in places, but its the paths that are the real terror at the moment.

Re: Snow day!
Last year was the bad one here. It would snow and would reach around 30 cm, melt a bit and then snow again. This went on for about 2 months before the weather warmed up again. Worst winter ever, but we did have a white Christmas.
I remember seeing temperatures as low as -17.
This year isn't as bad. Got a light flurry or two in December and that's it. Temperature wise we're doing about average.

Well it was the worst snowstorm we had since at least 20 years or so. Normally, everybody would complain when there's even 2 cm on the ground and there would be accidents everywhere. It pretty much completely shuts down.Pikachu3828 wrote:30cm? Ha ha blimey we think we've got in bad with about 10cm of snow.
And no, school wasn't shut down during the two months. :-x

Really? I thought Canada was one of those countries that is well equipped to handle snow since it's quite common over there.

Had light snow this morning. Enough to make the car's break jam up, but not enough to close school.
It's mostly melted by now though.

Not here. The rest of Canada laughs at us for not being able to take snow. But we laugh at them for having cold temperatures and having to deal with snow. It's predicted to reach 11C on Monday.Pikachu3828 wrote:Really? I thought Canada was one of those countries that is well equipped to handle snow since it's quite common over there.

Re: Snow day!
I hope the snow over here goes away soon or it's going to be a pain getting back to university in time for exams and I can't afford to miss those
