My Torchic was a male, and I looked today and it was FEMALE! I may have just misread the first time, but I'm sure I didn't...
I'm not complaining, this is great, so please don't change him/her back! Just thought you might like to know! (Just making myself clear, PLEASE DON'T change her back to a male!)

I'm going to tentatively state you may have misread the gender. I don't mean to be accusatory but there is no place in any script where gender is capable of being modified once it has been determined as an egg.
The next update will make gender more prominent, however, so if there is a bug somewhere that changes gender it will be easier to spot.
