Automatic Super Rod and Releasing Pokemon Glitch

Went into my bag and clicked use on the old rod and it seems to have fixed it, unless you did something between this post and the last.

It's a shame that many people managed to get so many Pokémon a lot earlier than they should have.

I'm tempted to add some more Pokémon to the later rods so there's still something to work towards...in fact, I shall.

Guess I'll just post this in here as it's related to the fishing but I'm able to catch nine different pokemon with the super rod rather then the eight it says it can catch, is the number wrong or is a pokemon slipping in that shouldn't be there. The pokemon I'm catching are Shpeal, Surskit, Lotad, Clamperl, Shellos, Staryu, Psyduck, and Carvanha

The super rod doesn't catch 8 pokemon, just that there are 8 pokemon that can be caught with the super rod. It's possible one or more of the pokemon you mentioned is caught with a good rod. Like in the hames, just because you use the super rod, doesn't mean you won't catch pokemon caught with the lesser rods

I caught all of those except Clamperl and Shellos with the old rod...

Does that mean there are more pokemon that can be caught with the super rod then? I'm confused I thought it could catch eight kinds of pokemon total with it, so it can catch eight that the other couldn't then?

yes, from my understanding - that's exactly what it means... you can catch 2 with the old rod, and additional 5 with the new rod and a further 8 with the super rod. Once you've got the super rod, you can catch a total of 15 pokemon with it

I'm not quite sure that's correct as when I got the second rod I was only able to catch 5 total. When I got the super rod I was no longer able to catch Goldeens or Remoraids and still have yet even though I've fished a lot (Top on the list of most pokemon fished). So I'm not quite sure if that's actually correct. I could be wrong but that's my observation.
