It's hard NOT to understand what Undead said.

I suspect there's a greater chance of catching a shiny fish pokémon as well.

I joined in '08 but was inactive, so I get what danny13 means.

i dont think you can catch shiny pokemon.

If i recall, Pikachu3828 has said the only 2 ways to get a shiny pokemon were through breeding, or holding a certain item. Obviously its a very high chance of it happening (wouldnt be suprised if its set at the same chance rate as in the games) - obviously when Cynthia shows up the chance is lowered slightly, giving a better chance of a shiny occuring under these conditions

Of course, there is another way to get a shiny pokemon - win my forum competition [Shamless plug i know, but the oppertunity was right there for the taking]
