I view my breeding card and click trade with myself, it isnt till i get to step 8 of 8 that it says i cant trade with myself...
I know this is kind of a silly thing to do but wouldnt it be better to either remove the link to trade with yourself or error as soon as i clikc the link??

As you said yourself it's not a bug, any data inconsistencies are checked at step 8 at which point you identified it as correctly disallowing trading with yourself.
