Which is better Manga or Anime

This one could start a war or two, and isnt just limited to Japan either.

Which is better, Manga (which is basically a comic book) or Anime (an animated show or movie)

A lot of Anime starts of as Manga, shows such as Naruto, Dragonball Z and Yu-Gi-Oh all started off as Manga before becoming popular Anime shows both over here and in Japan. Other shows started off in other mediums before becoming both Manga and Anime shows (PokÃ©mon being a prime example of that one)

So which do you prefer. Which is the superior form. The Manga, or the Anime?

I prefer anime more than the manga. For some reason, I find manga harder to follow... I get lost easily. Not really sure why I'm like that. /:
And if I'm watching anime, I don't have to go through the troublesome ordeal of turning pages. I can just sit there and watch.

Both, more towards anime. With manga, you read, and I like reading (especially "backwards", since it's mental exercise), but with anime, you don't always have to buy stuff because some channels have it.

Manga all the way! It's usually the cannon version and they usually don't cut as much out when it's dubbed. Plus I like the manga version best usually. (Mainly Full Metal Alclamist.)

You don't always have to buy really, you can read it in the bookstore, it's not like they kick you out if you do that. At least that's what I usually do... (I read a whole series in the bookstore once...) I rarely buy it anymore unless I really like the series or I like the art.

I like them equally as well.
If it's an especially good anime,
i do like to read the manga,
which tends to be more in depth.
But lately,
I've been having trouble
staying focused on Maga.
Anime is much easier for me,
cuz I can just watch it.

If I read anything in the bookstore, it'll be a preview, and if I like it, I'll buy it because the artists and writers and publishers need to know through my money that people want more of what I bought. Kind of like buying music. I'll mostly buy whole CDs, but if there's only one good song out of a bunch of songs I don't like on an album, I'll download instead to show that I like the songs in that style.

For me, I'm more Anime.

in terms of cosplay I have a clearer idea as to what colours the materials I need to be... also I can better understand the personality of the character I plan to cosplay.

Often if the anime is good, i'll be encouraged to read the manga - for example DN Angel or FullMetal Alchemist.

It depends. I usually hate it when good manga are converted to anime, because the voices are off. (usually)

But if the illustrations in the manga are really bad, then I usually don't bother watching the anime.

it just all depends what show/manga you are talking about. Some mangas are better then the anime its made into and some anime is better then the manga that it was made from.

yeah i choose anime because you got to read when you take manga i mean sure the pictures are great but watching it is way better!
