I think I messed up, I didn't put my "whathisface" through Bill's machine before hatching the egg 
Can anyone help me or have any ideas what to do?

Once the egg has hatched it can not be put into the machine. You must get/breed another egg. Also do make sure you buy a 'Time Pass' to be able to use it. ^_^
