In February, during the 25th anniversary of The Pokemon Company, three games were officially announced that will come to the Nintendo Switch console. Now the release dates for each title have been announced. Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Pokémon Shining Pearl will be released on November 19, 2021, while the open-world set Pokémon Legends Arceus will be released two months later on January 28, 2022.
The first two releases are remakes of games that originally appeared on the Nintendo DS in 2006. Pokémon Company COO Takato Utsunomiya said:
These are faithful remakes of Pokémon Diamond and Pokémon Pearl, which were released on the Nintendo DS in Japan 15 years ago.
The titles are being developed by the ILCA studio, which also has Pokémon Home to its credit. Responsible for the project is Yuichi Ueda of ILCA and Junichi Masuda of Game Freak, who is responsible for the original Nintendo DS versions.
Pokémon Legends Arceus is an open-world RPG. At first glance, it is very similar in style to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. In the game, we move to the distant past, to the land of Sinnoh, in order to learn the secrets of the island and create the first Pokedex in this region.
The Pokemon Company has announced release dates for three games that are heading to Nintendo Switch.
