I Need Trading Pokemon Help!

When I got to a certain point in my Gold game it said that I could trade pokemon to and from the old games. When I tried to do this with my yellow, it wouldn't let me. I used me and my sister's gameboy advance systems and the GBA trading link cable but it kept on saying that the other game wasn't doing anything. What was I doing wrong?

I had the exact same problem too. It seems that you cannot trade between the Gameboy/Gameboy Colour PokÃƒÂ©mon games using Gameboy Advance's and a GBA link cable, nothing will happen. You have to use the Gameboy/Gameboy Colour's and a Gameboy/Gameboy Colour link cable. I just hope you kept it and didn't sell them away when you bought a GBA :huh:

uhh, i dont have this problem. I have a GBC and a GBA, and they worked fine. Trading from Yellow to gold, gold to yellow, silver to gold, silver to yellow, etc.

Strange. I wonder if I had pokemon that were not in the Yellow game so it wouldn't do anything. That might be the reason since I had Quilava on my team.

It shouldn't let you trade or battle if you have any new PokÃƒÂ©mon or new moves that weren't present in R/B/Y

You can trade PokÃƒÂ©mon holding an item. It'll stay there in RBY but it won't do anything and you won't see if till you trade back to GSC. Sometimes when you traded PokÃƒÂ©mon from RBY to GSC they came with held items, like the Pikachu from Yellow comes with Light Ball attatched, which was the only way to get Light Ball in GSC IIRC

So that means the item like Light Ball was stored on memory and as soon it was traded it has the item holding it. I always thought you can't trade an item

XD When you trade any pokemon from the older versions, it automaticly comes with a item. (mostly berries) try it, i thought people knew this...
