Is pokemon fr/lg any good?

I don't know if i should get this is, so im looking for advice from other people is it any good?

I actually think (at the moment) that Ruby/Saph may be nicer since only that game can plant berries, do the battle tower, have secret bases, the mach bike, and also have PokÃƒÂ©mon contests.
FR/LG is useful for catching more PokÃƒÂ©mon... But it does have those wireless faetures... And I haven't explored these new islands on my FireRed game anyway... So I'm going to update this evaluation thing after I go to some of the islands...

I say it's great, but the Elite Four suck. All of Gary's PokÃƒÂ©mon are higher levles than mine except for my Mewtwo, and I still wipe the floor with him without taking any damage.

This is just a mention, but the guy leaders are harder... Even Blaine cause all of his PokÃƒÂ©mon knew Fire Blast! (After training, I beat him) but that was just worth a mention...

I crushed Blaine, I had all 3 starters at the time, so I just used Blastoise to wipe the floor with him.

Just because I might be wimpy and didn't have much of a PokÃƒÂ©mon selection, I still mannaged to beat him... And that reminds me.
On FR/LG there's move tutors (but will only teach their move once) and on this island called 'Two Island' there's an old lady who'll teach a new and strong attack to your starter when it finally evolves! I just have to evolve my Charmeleon, and I can see how it looks like,

I taught my Blastoise and Venusaur Hydro Cannon and Frenzy Plant, they're good 1 hit kill moves, especially on Gary.

Are the power ratings on those attacks higher than Hyper Beam (which is 150 I think)

Anyways, back on topic, I agree it gives Vena some usability, but for the other two that move should be occupied by flamethrower, heat wave or Surf.
