Emerald and Wireless?

I remember seeing that the Japanese version of Emerald comes with the Wireless Adapter. This might be one of those stupid questions, but assuming that the adapter is for the English versions, what would it do? Mini-games like in FR/LG?

I have Emerald ^_^! It has the wireless room but it didin't come with the adapter
